Alison Smailes

Alison joined the EIUK board in 2024.

She has had the privilege of going to Tanzania with EI on three occasions, being part of her church’s short term mission teams in 2017, 2019 and 2023. In 2024, Alison had the opportunity to return to Tanzania and see the considerable impact that EI projects are having on the lives of people in their schools, villages and communities.

Alison qualified as a social worker in the 1990s, and has spent the last three decades as both a practitioner and a leader in statutory children’s social work and the criminal justice system. She is keen to support and promote EI’s work in partnering with local churches linking with their communities to serve those in need.
