Tonton Caballero reports on Bohol area

Tonton Cabellero reported on the his visit to the areas affected by Typhoon Rai at the end of January 2022.

“We travelled to Bohol with Bishop Chito Ramos, the National Minister of Alliance of Bible Christian Communities of the Philippines (ABCCOP). Pastors Jeremias Fababier and Rey Almadrones were with us to follow up on churches that were destroyed that were affiliated with ABCCOP since 4 years ago. There to meet us were Pastor Ed & Minda Macdon & Susan Francisco, also from ABCCOP, for the preparation and coordination with the leaders and members of Bohol Ministerial Fellowship through Pastora Mercedita Estorosas.

We had a meeting with some of the pastors and church leaders to discuss the assistance we will provide to those whose houses were destroyed by Odette. We estimated 10 pieces of GI sheets of 12 feet, 2 kilos of umbrella nails and roof sealant with a cost of P6k perfamily. They will be responsible for the lumbers that they need. We were able to help 150 families. Since GI sheets are out of stock, we talked to a Christian hardware store and pre-purchased the GI sheets, nails and sealant needed by each family. Here are some picture of houses that we visited.”

These are houses that have been destroyed, families that will be helped.

How the typhoon affected the people

This barangay (district) was LITERALLY ERASED by Odette in Boa, Cagdianao, Dinagat Island!

The whole barangay was leveled down to the ground by Typhoon Odette destroying everything and killing 5 people.

An old man in this community had pleaded for the people to go up the mountain, even when there was still a wedding rite, so their lives were spared. The newly weds went up with the rest.
